My parents wanted to name me something that couldn't be shortened so "Brina" came out of a baby book. It's pronounced like the water filter but with an "n" instead of a "t." I know I wish it was more exciting too, but sadly, it's really not. Though it's different and I like it.
I've been writing professionally for almost a year. I also teach in an elementary school and I used to do beauty pageants, nope not making that up see?
<--- That's me answering an on stage question during Miss Pennsylvania which I competed in three times. I held three local titles and did a bunch of community service. It was a great experience and I really learned some valuable information along the way. For example, you can use Sally Hansen spray on hosiery as a tan, and Vaseline does help you smile more.
I finished competing so I could move on and get married. I had a full time job as a teacher and it just seemed like the right move to make. Not to mention I got to marry the love of my life, who is also really flippin attractive. So I got lucky, got married and had a fantastic job. But the job unfortunately didn't last. If you're from PA you know that teachers are facing the biggest budget cuts we've ever seen, so when I lost my job I decided to start writing the Cryptid Tales novels. I had nothing to lose and everything to gain. As of June 2012 I am now a full time writer, focusing on completing four more books this year.
Is this a process? Yes, but it's one that I just can't wait to get totally into!
